This holiday season, see the Nutcracker story come to life at Nutcracker in the Castle at the Paine Art Center. Thousands of visitors will come to Oshkosh to see the magnificently decorated rooms of the Paine mansion transformed into a holiday wonderland.

In each of the mansion’s rooms, scenes from the Nutcracker ballet are reinterpreted through elaborate decorations. Scenes include the Nutcracker’s opening party scene, the dance of the sugar plum fairies and the land of sweets. Like the ballet, “Nutcracker in the Castle” presents a visual spectacle.

On the guided tour option, actors lead visitors through the ornate rooms and hallways of the home. Live music fills the mansion, thrilling visitors with a sense of warmth and opulence. Youth ballet performers are also featured, completing the Nutcracker story through dance.

At several points during the run of “Nutcracker in the Castle,” special candlelight tours will be offered. A trip through the “castle” lit by decorated Christmas trees is an unforgettable experience.
