| “Public Enemies” Hysteria |

It was only a year ago when the streets of downtown Oshkosh were transformed back to the 1930s gangster era and movie stars Johnny Depp, Christian Bale and others graced our presence during the filming of Universal Studio’s blockbuster, “Public Enemies”. With less than a month until the world premier of “Public Enemies”, on July 1st, Johnny Depp and movie hysteria are the buzz around town. Several festivities throughout the City of Oshkosh are planned to celebrate Oshkosh’s role in the filming of this Hollywood movie. Read the Oshkosh Northwestern for up-to-date coverage and details.
Tuesday, June 30- Opera House Square Farmer’s Market.
- Special edition Live at Lunch, featuring Janice Marie and Joe Scheibinger performing Ella Fitzgerald music from the 1930s.
- Downtown businesses ‘Steals and Deals’ sale and gangster trading card hunt.
- The former bank building at 404 North Main Street will be open for visits to the vault used in the film and will also feature an extension of the Oshkosh Public Museum’s display on the gangster era.
- Bi-Plane fly over Downtown Oshkosh at 1pm and over the Marcus Cinema at 6:45pm.
- The EAA Museum is offering half-off admission to the museum when you present your Public Enemies movie ticket stub (valid June 30, 2009-July 25, 2009)
- Visit The Pioneer Airport at EAA to see where portions of the movie were filmed.
- Special advance screening of “Public Enemies” with two ticket options. One for the screening only and one for the screening and a VIP reception. Call the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation for ticket details and purchase, (920) 426-3993. Tickets are limited and expected to sell out.
Gallery Walk, July 4Special Gangster Exhibit Oshkosh Public Museum- “The Era of Public Enemies: A Wave of Crime in a Troubled Time”, opens on Saturday, June 27, and runs through Sunday, October 18.
