Hops and Props 2010_JL__0065Spring is almost here and we couldn’t be more excited. March is full of great events that will get you back outside and enjoying the weather. So let's get out there and march toward spring together!

March blooms early at the Paine Art Center and Gardens. Rooms of Blooms, taking place the first and second weeks of March, celebrates the art of floral design within the historic estate. Check out new camping and boat gear at the RV & Boat Main Event on the EAA grounds. Also at the EAA, the biggest beer tasting event of the year, Hops & Props, will surely wet your whistle. If you are in the mood for some music, head over to the Grand Opera House for Vic Ferrari and Steve March-Torme and Monroe Crossing.

The second week in March is going to be beautiful, especially at the Alberta Kimball Auditorium for the Miss Oshkosh Pageant. You can gear up your bicycle or find a new one at the Fox Valley Bike Sale or go for a run along the Riverwalk during the Shamrock Shuffle 5K Run/Walk. This is another great weekend to bring the whole family over to the EAA AirVenture Museum for the annual Family Flight Fest.

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day during the third week in March. The annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will start at 2 p.m. in downtown Oshkosh. Go over to the tent party following the parade to see live Irish bands, Irish dancers, the children’s reddest hair and freckled face contest, Wolfhound dogs, cultural displays, raffles, bagpipers, Irish food and more. Both the Oshkosh Youth Symphony Orchestra and Philharmonia Spring Concert and the Oshkosh Area Community Band Spring Concert take place this week as well.

St. Patrick's DayEaster celebrations highlight the final week of the month. Bring the family to the Oshkosh Senior Center to have Breakfast with the Easter Bunny and then visit the Menominee Park Zoo for an Egg-Citing Day at the Zoo. Children can visit the Easter Bunny and participate in an egg hunt, crafts, games, raffles, contest, prizes and more. Take your young artist to the Young Artist Workshop at the Paine Art Center or go meet the artists who are showcasing their work downtown at Jambalaya Art’s, Meet the Artist.

The 56th Annual WPS Farm Show, at the EAA grounds, starts March 29. The 3-day event will close out another event-filled March. Check out the latest farming equipment, machinery, tools and services. Don’t forget about the ongoing events running throughout March: Be the Dinosaur at the Oshkosh Public Museum, Joye Moon Watercolors at the Paine Art Center and Gardens and the Rare WWII Nose Art Exhibit at the EAA AirVenture Museum.
