(Oshkosh, WI)  The Oshkosh Convention & Visitors Bureau (OCVB) is proud to announce the return of the U.S. Open of Grass/Waupaca Boatride Volleyball Tournament and Festival from July 11 to 15. More than 1,000 volleyball teams from around the world will compete on more than 230 grass courts at the EAA Grounds in Oshkosh. A new addition this year is the Professional Sand Doubles Volleyball Tournament run by the National Volleyball League (NVL). Both sand and grass tournaments are open to all skill levels from recreational to professional.

Misty May-Treanor, two-time defending Olympic gold medallist and the number one ranked Volleyball player in the world, returns with her M2 volleyball camps and clinics on July 11 and 12. Camps are open to boys and girls that are entering 7th through 12th grades. Registration is limited to 50 students per session. Cost is $50 per student.

Sand tournament play begins with professional competition on Thursday July 12 at the newly erected sand courts on the EAA grounds with the finals scheduled for Friday night. Grass tournament play runs Friday through Sunday at the EAA grounds.

In addition to Volleyball, the event includes onsite-camping and live music on Friday and Saturday nights. This is the 29th annual installment of the “The Waupaca Boatride Volleyball Tournament” and the third consecutive hosted in Oshkosh. Tournament Founder and Director Tom Galecke describes the event as the “World’s Largest Volleyball Tournament.” “We are very excited to be back in Oshkosh,” he said. “ The EAA grounds are the perfect location to handle our growth and all of the exciting new additions we have in store for players and spectators.”

The event is free and open to the public. Team registration is underway at Registration fees vary based on event and team size. More than $40,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to participants this year.
