Boating

Oshkosh is a city on the water. Located on the west shore of Lake Winnebago and bisected by the Fox River, water is never far away from anywhere in Oshkosh. There are numerous ways and places to enjoy the water.

Several businesses in Oshkosh rent boats, ranging in size from small, single-person kayaks to large pontoon boats big enough for a party with friends.

Be a Better Boater

Wear a lifejacket at all times when fishing from a boat, kayak, canoe, or paddleboard and use boat lights after sunset. If you need to register your boat, you can do so online or via mail: Register Your Boat.

You can also help minimize the spread of invasive species by removing plants and animals from your boat before and after launching, draining all water from compartments, and never move live fish from any waterbody. Learn more on the WI DNR aquatic invasives prevention web page
