About Mineshaft
Mineshaft opened its doors in Oshkosh on July 6th, 2020. This is the second location of Mineshaft, whose original location opened in Hartford, WI in 1975. The same owners of the Hartford location of Mineshaft, Tom and Will Masters, also own the Oshkosh location. The Mineshaft features a family-friendly restaurant, a well-stocked bar, and a large game room that’s perfect for kids or kids at heart.
The Food
The Mineshaft has a wide variety of food that will please any foodie or picky eater. There are numerous menu options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have pizza, sandwiches, burgers, and Wisconsin classics like poutine and a fish fry on Wednesdays and Fridays. Kids can order off a special menu that has plenty of options that are perfectly portioned for your little one. Mineshaft was voted “Best New Restaurant” as part of the Northwest Herald’s “2021 City Picks.” For brunch enthusiasts, the Mineshaft has a brunch buffet on Sundays from 8:00am-2:00pm. They have weekly specials for each day of the week that will make you want to come more than once. If you prefer to get carry-out, you can order over the phone and pick up your food at the front desk.
The Drinks
While the Mineshaft may be a family restaurant, they have plenty of drink options for those of drinking age. They offer full bar services with plenty of choices of liquor, beer or wine. If you’re craving something sweet, consider buying a boozy milkshake! Mineshaft also offers plenty of non-alcoholic drinks and even carries Sprechers beers and soda.
The Game Room
Let’s not forget about the game room! The game room offers plenty of traditional arcade games like skeeball and basketball, as well as a giant crane machine. No matter your skill set, there’s a game you can play. Guests must first purchase a swipe card before playing games. Once you’re done playing, you can cash your winnings at their prize room towards the back of the arcade. There’s even a machine that can calculate your prize money before you cash out and recycle your card if you don’t want to keep it for future use. Prize values vary by coins, but no matter what you can walk out of the game room a winner.
Great for Parties
The Mineshaft has everything onsite you could need if you want to host a party. There are private rooms in their game room you can rent for any occasion. They also have several party packages that are convenient for busy parents looking to plan the perfect party. If you need a sweet treat like cake or cupcakes there’s even a bakery onsite! As part of the Northwest Herald’s “2021 City Picks,” the Mineshaft also won “Best Kids Party Place.” And don’t assume because the Mineshaft is a family-friendly restaurant that you can’t host events other than birthday parties here! Back when the Milwaukee Bucks were in the NBA Finals in 2021, the Wisconsin Herd held a watch party at the Mineshaft for Bucks fans that couldn’t attend the games in-person.
If You Go
The Mineshaft is located at 2041 S Koeller St. Hours are listed here, but will vary by the area of the restaurant and game room. No one under the age of 21 is allowed on the premises after 10:30pm, even if accompanied by a parent or guardian. Reservations aren’t required, however if you’re planning to come for one of their special events like Easter Brunch or their Friday Fish Fry, it’s highly suggested you make a reservation. They have a large parking lot onsite so you don’t have to worry about finding parking.
