ABOUT
Project 21 will bring similar KidVenture aviation-centric experiences to the EAA Aviation Museum year-round. Located on the second floor, the 15,000 square-foot Youth Education Center will provide youth, their parents, and their teachers access to activities like: - A permanent project lab where youth, under the guidance of an adult mentor, will participate in facilitated aircraft builds and related activities. Visitors will be able to watch the builds and will be encouraged to sign up for future projects. - Permanent hands-on maker spaces that allow youth to use their imaginations to actively model, build, and test their aviation-inspired ideas. - Hands-on exhibit areas that focus on introducing the fundamentals of aircraft building: wing construction, propeller shaping, riveting, welding, circuitry, and fabric covering. - An interactive exhibit focused on rocketry, space exploration, and space travel. - Exhibit areas dedicated to developing a deeper understanding of flight planning, the four forces of flight, weather, and weight and balance. - Navigation chart exhibit with interactive kiosks. - Propulsion exhibit area featuring engine cut-a-ways to illustrate aircraft engine operating systems and concepts.
