A Magical Time in Oshkosh!

Pat decided it was his year to become the newest Nutcracker, so he brought his best moves to the Paine! However, Drosselmyer and the dancers guided him back into the storyline.

Nutcracker in the Castle is back at the Paine now through January 5 with self-guided tours, candlelight tours, guided performances, and even the Sugar Plum Fairy’s Cupcake Café! Make your reservations today!

Pat's Tips

  1. Dress up and take your family holiday photo at The Paine.
The holiday atmosphere is unmatched—and the lighting is pure magic. Your photos will glow.

  2. Don’t skip the guided tour—see the ballerinas.
I had never seen real ballet before, and the combination of dancers and music is surprisingly emotional in the best, most joyful way.

  3. Have a conversation with Drosselmeyer if you can.
I’d normally never strike up a conversation with a man wearing an eye patch—but something happens when you look into the steely blue eyes of a one-eyed magician. The actors are fully committed to their roles, and it elevates the whole experience.

  4. Slow down and savor a treat at the Sugar Plum Fairy Café in the carriage house.
It’s the perfect little pause in the magic.

  5. End the night at the Tipsy Tinsel Taproom across the street.
Once you’re filled with holiday joy, you’re just a five-minute drive from Fox River Brewing Company's festive taproom—where Jay, Heidi, and the team have taken the Christmas pop-up bar to a whole new level.
